Sonic Booms over Puget Sound this hour
« on: August 17, 2010, 04:14:14 PM »
Just had two very large atmospheric booms over greater Puget Sound this hour.  In the building I am at it felt like an explosion on site.  They are saying these two booms were felt from south of Olympia all the way to North Seattle.

Obama flew into town today to stump for a local senator.

There is a connection I think....

It's because when Obama puts on his cape and flys cross country he regularly breaks Mach 1.  The fighter escorts were just having a tough time keeping up.   :D

Ahh!  two F15s from Portland were scrambled up to Seattle due to a small plane breaking restricted airspace over the President.  Portland is appx 150 miles south of Seattle and F15s breaking the sound barrier are going at emergency speed Im guessing 1500 mph more or less so that means it took them 6 minutes to get up here lol

very exciting :)

In other news, a Cessna pilot needed a change of shorts.  Film at 11.

Poor guy, I feel sorry for the cessna pilot. He probably soiled himself

He got an outstanding up-close view of F-15's though!

Someone always fails to get the word, or in this case pilot advisory.

Hmm wonder what happens when two 1500mph f-15s fly by a Cessna at close proximity?

He left LA and my neighborhood this morning from doing a stump and dinner stop last night, and dont get me started on the traffic I had to go through to get home.  Bush didn't even get whole chunks of Wilshire, Sepulveda, and Olympic shut down at the same time from 4pm-9pm on a monday!

I don't blame the Cesna driver, we ourselves didn't have any headsup to Obama's local stop until he landed at LAX.  F-15s make a helluva lot of noise though, even going sub-sonic, probabley scared all the fluids out the poor guy.

Everyone here in the office felt the two booms. Sounded like they were coming from the roof.

Earlier, I saw Air Force One landing at Boeing Field from my desk at work.

Sheesh, I wondered what that was.

Hehe yea I heard that when I was at Fort Lewis. I though it was control Det or ceremony howitzer going off, then later on I realized it was 2 sonic booms. It was bad bellybutton =)
