Got the same problem: Same skins keep downloading over and over.

That usually means the "skins.res" file has been marked read-only.  Remove that file form the game installation folder and that should take care of it.

I checked the skins properties in skins folder that continue to download, such as P-51 13 and ta152h-8,9,10, b25c's and none have read only checked in attributes. Is that what you mean by marked?

Talking about the "skins.res" file itself.

Anyone else noticing the skins download thing using Windows 7? I've noticed permissions/ownership on some files have changed randomly. That skins.res file showed the owner was an "unknown account", and only the default administrator account had permissions to it. Same thing happened out of the blue on some stuff on my secondary drive.

Checked skin res. file folders properties, and read only was checked in attributes. I unchecked box, clicked apply and okay, however running game with skins downloading. I stopped enabled skin DL to see if I would get error message again about 'could be marked as read only...', and did receive error message.  I checked skins file res file and attribute had read only box checked again. So can I expect another round of down loaded skins?

I downloaded all the skins manually from the web page.  then notice the "auto download" option in hangar was on and it was downloading skins I already had, is this a bug? or the web page not the updated version.

semp

and yes it downloads the same skin severa l times.

Did you read Skuzzy's email?  He said to remove the skins.res file...not just change the attributes, but get rid of the file.

Worked for me when main skin folder attribute read only was deselected and changes for sub folders applied.
