Congratulations on your decision.
I'm going on 10 months with e-cigs and loving it. The forum you linked to is a great place for info. One piece of advice I have for you is something that is spoken of often on that site. Get one with a good battery.
That means no cigarette-size vaporizers. While swapping out a battery for a fresh one every 2 hours
is a pain, it's not the main reason I say this. Those little batteries are just not capable of powering a heating coil reliably. You want good consistent vapor if you're going to make the switch from cigarettes. And while I and many others were able to do it with a small unreliable device, I would suggest something more substantial to improve your chances.
One reason most newcomers go to a small device is because of the resemblance to a cigarette. But trust me, it's just not worth it.
Right now I'm using a device that I built from a tutorial on that forum. It uses two AA-size 3.7V Li-ion batteries in parallel with a voltage booster and capacitors. Lasts all day long. I just buy new batteries every few months, a few atomizers here and there, and I spend about 20 bucks a month in juice. That alone is worth the switch, nevermind the reduced health risks, regained sense of smell and taste, no more stinky clothes, and the fact I can smoke inside.
I tried the patch and the gum. They didn't work. This worked within a week. Good luck.
