Oh lord Boise State is gonna be whining and screaming now...
« on: September 06, 2010, 11:30:06 PM »
When they don't make it to the National Championship game....no matter that they don't play anyone worth a crap for the rest of the season. Heck their next "big test" is against Oregon State that got beat by TCU this past weekend...oh and don't forget that Boise plays one of the worst schedules in Div 1 this year...I think it is just barely above 100 on the ranking but not by much.

Good.  I'm glad they get to have their "we should be in the championship" say again.  All the sooner that we get a playoff for college football's highest level.  Every college football fan should be rooting for Boise St. to run the table.

When they are the only unbeaten school left and they aren't national champs something is wrong . OSU played TCU very tight since when does losing to the number 6 team make you a push over ?

All the sooner that we get a playoff for college football's highest level.

It will never happen unless its Federally mandated.  All of us college football fans should accept this, no matter how much we want it.  Boise merely upsets the system and the sportswriters are the ones that perpetuate the problem.  The only way Boise State gets to the championship game is after they join a BCS conference.

Look Boise fanbois until they play in a BCS conference and have to prepare for quality opponents week in and week out then and only then will they be accepted in my book. Just because you play 9 P***** teams in a season does not a championship team make. Hell I could have a decent Div 1A team prepared if I had between 1 month and 9 months to prepare for them. Oh and the Beavers....they aren't a quality team either. I seriously doubt they are still in the Top 25 after getting beaten by TCU who SHOULDN'T be up there either.

Guys, correct me if i am wrong, didn't that coach try to schedule games against BSC teams (UCS, Texas, Nebraska, Oklahoma to name a few) but they all declined to play them.

Aww man let my beloved Frogs have their time in the sun.  They vacuumed orally for AGES.  :D

Although I tend to agree with your assessment.  Even if they run the table they're not a top 10 team IMHO.

I'll never accept that.  On the contrary, we deserve a championship and need to demand it.  This has nothing to do with Boise State, and everything to do with what's best for college football.  And a end-of-season tournament to determine the champion is what is best.

+1  :aok     If they want to run with all the big dogs then they need to get off the porch and run in a high caliber conference, and play a tougher schedule for a start, i would love to see Boise play in a Real conference, they would lose more than they win,  as far as who's #1..  no one, not until theres a legit playoff season, top two teams from each Confernce and maybe 2 to 4 wild cards form all the divisions, that always gives any underdog a fighting chance, set the teams up in brackets and have at it, something like the NFL

Ya and teams will play Alabama, Florida, Penn State, tOSU but Boise State scares them. Having said that, Boise has proven to be a contender. VT may not be a national title contender, but they are a very solid team.

Though I doubt Boise would enjoy the same record of success if they played in a BCS conference, that is not the issue. They beat the teams they have played OSU, TCU, VT and the fact that they are in a joke of a conference is going to be irrelevant if they beat Oregon State in Boise. If they get past OSU they will go undefeated and then they have to be considered for the national championship.

All you guys wishing for a playoff in NCAA football should be very careful what you wish for. It would change the complexion of the regular college football season altogether. As of now EVERY game is a must win game. If you go to a playoff, those "Big" games in the middle of Oct. become a little less meaningful. College football has one of the most exciting "regular seasons" as it is right now. Bringing in a playoff system will change that.

unless it was a 4-8 team playoff.
