Would you take a 12-0 Boise State team over a 11-1 Alabama, 11-1 ohio state, 11-1 Florida?
Alabama and ohio state maybe. Florida no. Why? Because Florida year in and year out will play as many small time programs as they can and run the score up. This doesn't only happen with Florida. Alot of the higher tier teams do this. I'll use my Alma Mater as an example. WVU starts out with Coastal Carolina.....they couldn't find anyone better? And they only win 31-0. The third string should be able to beat CCU by 31. Is that a quality win? I would drop them in the rankings just for playing a team like that and not winning by 70.
The analysts don't help either. You have Lee Corso ankle-humping his favorites year round. If Corso picked lets say Purdue to win the title before the season started, and they went 1-2 the first 3 games he would still be calling them a contender.
A playoff won't happen either. There is too much money at stake in the major bowl games.
