Speaking of remakes, has anyone heard anything else about Peter Jackson's Dam Busters project?

They just made "First Light" (Geoff Wellum's great book about the BoB and beyond) into a TV drama in the UK, haven't read much about it yet though.

They made a Hurtgen forest movie a while back:

I'd like to see a good Guadalcanal movie that switches the movies plot between stories of members from both sides of battles with both air and land battles....A new flying tiger movie would be cool. I'm not a fan of Iraq and Afghan war movies....its still going on so I think we should wait a bit before making such films...and so far every one I've seen is unrealistic and stupid...especially that horrible Brothers movie....

What the hell is wrong with BoB to warrant a re-make???

I'd like to see a Band of Brothers style mini-series about the Eighth Air Force.

You know what I want?

I want a Band of Brothers style series about the British Involvement in WW2, all the time I see Americans running and gunning raising the flag and saving the world. Just once I want to see a British infantry squad doing that.

would be sweet to see a movie about one of the German aces, a movie about their lives before during and after the war.   I know Hartmann sat and rotted in a Russian prison for 10 1/2 years after the war, only to return safely to his waiting wife.   if thats not a human interest story, idk what is.    Gallands story would make an awesome movie too, about his constant struggle with the Luftwaffe high command and excellent flying and leadership abilities.   or i'd like to see more of a ShowGirls2 format, with some random war pictures tossed in around the strippers for effect  :uhoh

Once again. War of 1812, Andrew Jackson's battle at New Orleans where he was outnumbered and outclassed.  :)

AJ brought the Pirates though. The Brits failed to bring Ninjas to counter, which is why they lost.  Still, late shots after the final bell don't count. The Brits won the war on points.

Okay, so what if the battle was a couple weeks too late? A battle's a battle. How about a movie about the overall war? Or a movie about George Washington before he turned into an American General and commanded British troops in the French and Indian War? A movie about the French and Indian War which isn't also a romance (The Last of the Mohicans). If there is one, I haven't seen it. :)

Battle of the Nile or Trafalgar or some of Wellington's battles against the French and Spanish.

It's too bad Gods and Generals sucked, because this would have been made already otherwise.

Sorry. Forgot how touchy Americans get when they lose a war.  ;)
