Thats why I finally went cordless
No more tangles and it was always stepping on cord and standing up or walking off plugged in that always broke them
Got through plenty of cheap sets.
I figured it a false economy though and shelled out forty five squid for cordless, price of two cheap sets
Love em, walk out side for a smoke, can still hear
Go next room still hear
And no danger of tripping

Hardware is big problem in regards to quality :old:
We should have marks of 10, pro's and con's for hardware in forum :old:
Joysticks, graphics cards etc are a mine field :old:

Joysticks for example should not break or spike for at least 2 years.
Price seems to have no bearing on quality when it comes to gaming.

I like these very much -- cost $16.  Koss CS-100.  Excellent sound.  Excellent mic quality.

Sound is everything to me.  A good headset is going to cost a few more bucks.  Below is Ear Force HPA2, made by Turtle Beach.  Spent $100 bucks two years ago, been satisfied ever since..  Google Turtle Beach, several choices.

I was blown away by how good these sound.  And they cost just a bit more than the crappy Plantronics headphones I replaced with them.

LOL, I hear ya (no pun intended  :D)

With a decent sound pack (Ranger's), it was like a whole new, and different game.

Like SWrokit states.. you *WANT* the Turtle Beach HPA-2.

Amazon.com has them for $80 with free shipping.
Newegg.com has them for $75 + $4 shipping.
I found a pair new on ebay for $70 with free shipping.

No, not cheap.. but not $100 either... but most DEFINITELY worth the price.  The sound quality is better than many $200+ sets out there, and the TRUE surround sound will blow you away.  I've had my set going on 3 years now without a single problem.
