If folks would show up if they say they would, the AvA would be a great place.   I tried twice and each time had 2-3 of us showing up.   The AvA has potential.

that's what i keep thinking. i went in a couple of times, and there were nearly 30 pile-its in there. with the smaller maps, that's actually a perfect number..........

I apologize Cap, I wasn't meaning to be argumentative. Your screen shot are great. I was just voicing my opinion on the AvA....which I realize now I shouldn't have done. Ranger said it best by not wanting to see 109s running around Guadalcanal or KIs over Berlin.

I didn't mean to insult Slash and the rest of the AvA staff either. I'll dig up another thread on this topic to explain myself further and not hijack this one anymore then I already have.  :salute

Yeah nice shots. But there's the problem with AvA IMO. The vast majority of players don't want to fly P40s, P47-11s, 110c or the 38g. If the oldest planes were so popular the you'd see WW1 packed to the gills.
What you have with the AvA arena is a select few players dictating which crappest planes the can put in rotation this week. Why not have ALL the planes included. Not just what a few players in control want. Obviously they're doing something wrong but they're too bull headed to accept that fact. What does it take for those in charge to realize this?  If folks wanted to fly that crap, ENY whines would never be seen, players wouldn't log off when it kicks in and the WW1, early and mid war arenas would be as full as late war.

All the cool screen shots and AARs in the world won't get more players in there. Cool planes will. Of coarse this is just my opinion but lets be honest here. The AvA arena is a failure and they refuse to accept that fact or do anything about it.
Add the full plane set...leave it alone for 6 months to a year and see what happens. What's the worst thing that could happen? Only 5 players show up instead of the usual 10 or 15?

1 when was the last time you flew in the AVA?

2 where were you last week and the week before when there were 20-30 people in there every night, with the AVA's "crappy" planeset?

3. why do you presume to know so much about an arena you either don't, or won't have anything to do with?

to be honest we have alot of stuff going on in there. that arena isn't for everyone, but the ones that go in there, enjoy it. we do have full setups with the late war planes, but each setup is unique. thats the beauty of it, not flying uber planes all the time. it forces people to learn planes they normally don't fly. not your cup of tea? no problem. to each his own.

maybe you should get involved with the AVA just a bit more, before beating it up.  :salute
