Yeah nice shots. But there's the problem with AvA IMO. The vast majority of players don't want to fly P40s, P47-11s, 110c or the 38g. If the oldest planes were so popular the you'd see WW1 packed to the gills.
What you have with the AvA arena is a select few players dictating which crappest planes the can put in rotation this week. Why not have ALL the planes included. Not just what a few players in control want. Obviously they're doing something wrong but they're too bull headed to accept that fact. What does it take for those in charge to realize this?  If folks wanted to fly that crap, ENY whines would never be seen, players wouldn't log off when it kicks in and the WW1, early and mid war arenas would be as full as late war.

All the cool screen shots and AARs in the world won't get more players in there. Cool planes will. Of coarse this is just my opinion but lets be honest here. The AvA arena is a failure and they refuse to accept that fact or do anything about it.
Add the full plane set...leave it alone for 6 months to a year and see what happens. What's the worst thing that could happen? Only 5 players show up instead of the usual 10 or 15?

well...i didn't want to fly the p40 either........but i wanted to fly there. if i'm correct, they plane set is constantly rotated. on friday, i flew the spit5, the hurri2c, and the p40.

you can't tell me that no one wants to fly the hurri, or the spit.........or the 109, of which there were 2 variants on friday. i see plenty of spitfires, hurricanes, and 109's in the air all the time.

which reminds me.......

this one is a downed 109, that crash landed near our base. i flew low alt looking for it. only on the film did i find it, by jumping into his plane.

as for the plane set.....if they enabled everything, then you'd just have another ma, with everyone flying the "hot rods"

I honestly don't want to fly a hurri, spit or 109. The arena is so hit or miss on what you can fly. Add full plane set, keep it constant and see what happens is all I'm saying. Personally, if that were to happen I'd rather fly in there then the mains, but I don't ever see that happening. People won't come in masses if they're restricted on what they can fly. The 2 country idea is awesome but that's it IMO.

well......i do respect your opinion.

to be honest, i didn't put these up for any other reason than the fact that i had fun, and wanted to share what i thought were some pretty cool shots. i didn't want to start an argument over it, that's for sure.  :aok

I wouldn't want to see Ki-84s over Berlin or 109s over Guadalcanal.

all of the hurri, p40, and spit screenshots were from friday night.

two guys. daniels, and strike. both kept coming, and cj67 and i had a BUNCH of fun fights with these guys. not one single time did they try to run.

the p38 shots......twizzty, jeagr, i think ranger, and about 5 others were there.......again....not a single one that tried to run, although jeagr tried throwing his pink panties into my propeller.  :noid

If folks would show up if they say they would, the AvA would be a great place.   I tried twice and each time had 2-3 of us showing up.   The AvA has potential.

They would have moved on from this thread as most do.   The fact you said "AvA", forces some to come out of the woodwork.

I really enjoy trying different plane sets, especially the early models. I just get a kick out of facing the same kind of challenges the real life pilots did trying to prevail against a nimble Zero in a Wildcat or P-40.

Not bullheaded, just don't think your idea is very good.
