We have exchange daughters all over the world, Facebook allows us to keep in touch and keep up with thier lives and we are very grateful for it. I guess it is different things to different people.

me and some friendsw made a female facebook once to seek out and harrass one of our other male friends with. Other than that I have never used facebook. Dont plan to either. I have nothing to stop me I geuss i'm just less inclined to share my whole life with everyone i know all the time. At least then I have news to tell friends when i see them.

I found my daughters computer often gets stuff from msn messenger, usually because they are teenagers and they are idiots that send files to each other all the time.
