I honestly would think it'd be cool if engines themselves could be set ablaze, I mean, there WERE some planes that had fire extinguishers built into the engines.
They can.

They can.

no unless they changed something in the last year. the fires we currently see are fuel tank fires (as stated by several here on the bb's including HT).

well when the fire is coming from the nose of the plane it would be cool if you got a nice bit of fire blasting across the windscreen. say 90% of the time i catch on fire in a Hog i don't know till someone tells me or i ask after I'm blown to bits and pieces.

So when the fire erupts from an engine on my B25 that's a fuel fire?

Yeah but the fire is coming out of the engine, not the wing.

So that's a fuel fire:

well that angle is not the best but to me it looks like the fire is coming from just to the inside of it. notice the slight bit of orange there to the left.

If you get a top down view up close that would probably be better.

Either way every time this discussion has come up it is brought to our attention that the fires in AH are fuel tank fires and nothing else. Now like i said things may have changed but to my knowledge they are still fuel tank fires.
