Very sad story. The guy deserved better. What I wish for the druggies can't be said here...

Taking drugs is not a sickness..... it's a choice.


For the first few times, sure.

For that matter, repeatedly using the same tried and failed tactics of the Drug War expecting different results is a choice, too.  It is a choice that gets a lot of good people killed every year. 

And my "bleeding heart" DID have a very close friend killed in a crash caused by a drug user.  The police were chasing the jerk at the time so they could get their name in lights over another insignificant and futile minor drug bust.  He slammed into the car my friend was a passenger in and killed him instantly.  He died at 15 for nothing.  It screwed his family and friends up for years.  It kept the people who were going to buy those drugs itching for all of a few hours while they found a different connect.  What a cause to die for.

That's not to say they shouldn't throw the book at the people who caused this crash.  They've got to be held accountable for their actions just like anyone else.

My condolences to the victims.
