Maybe the Father could have said it/meant it differently. We, as Parents/Grandparents(a lot anyways) DO overindulge our young ones.
Wife and I raised 3 Daughters youngest is 19. We often watch my 2 year old Granddaughter and have a Grandson due in December. I'm getting

lol.
We have SO much little toy
junk at our home. Our little Granddaughter wants most everything she sees,
I try to give almost anything they want, because I grew up very poor, and I want my family to have what I could only dream of (including food).
We do have to say NO on occasion. This is one of those stories where I try not to judge, because I do not know the family, or their situation.
If the child looked in good health and looked not to be abused, then as a Parent, I can't say anything bad, even if I may disapprove.
My experience is. The best "Parents"(or so
They believe don't have children. When/if they do finally have their own, views change dramatically.
