Meh, considering the team in question is fielding three linemen at 300, 335 and 350 lbs, plus five members of the team that are actively being D1 recruited... They actually offered to play the game "at half speed" so no one would get hurt..... amazing.
Seriously, what's the point? You might as well let your 16-17 year old play against the Ohio State squad. And get completely demoralized.
The average high school team doesn't play against college teams, and this Lawrence Academy is, for all intents and purposes, a college squad right now. Hell, it might even stick with a D2 or 3 squad in a game, from the little background research I did in 5 mins. Last year they won every game, outscoring their opponents by 390 to 71.
Sometimes discretion really is the better part of valor, no matter how much chest thumping you wish to put behind it. I'm all for the competition aspect, but when they're putting their JV players on the field, after scoring 37 in the first quarter......(easily searched) AND going on to win 57-0.... somethings gotta be done about that league.
