One thing that has always sort of impressed me about AH is the ability of a really crappy night to turn around in a very small period of time.  I was online off and on flying for the better part of the evening (roughly 5:00 - 9:00 pacific).   For the longest time I couldn't find a good fight and/or furball to join.  Seemed like all I was seeing was high altitude planes that would go tearing past and continue on their merry 500mph decent into the next sector, the folks I didn't see in the stratosphere didn't really seem to want to come out from their own ack umbrellas.  In short it was a very frustrating evening.

That is until I decided to give it one more go before bed, there were one or two squaddies on and we found a little portion of Late War Blue and a handful of co-conspirators on knights (at least I think they were knights...I was flying rook) and ended up with a really fun little battle between 43 and 42.  That last hour-hour and a half erased the previous three hours of boredom, frustration, and general game angst that had been building up in the blink of an eye.

Too bad this will never work because

- If nobody is there, nobody goes there
- Players frustrated with caps at euro prime & US daytime are looking for the "massive" in MMO  - else they would simply join the 40 players LWB. So why should they go into empty AvA? ;)
- Many (most?) players do not like the AvA setup. AvA is a good altenative for those looking for something different than the MA. That's why it's a bad alternative for those actually looking for MA style gameplay. If you look for something different than MA, it's the place to go.

understandable sir <S>

if you were to go there, chances are good that someone would look at the clipboard, as you do, and see someone in there, and think "hhmm....maybe i'll go see who's in there".
now, there's 2 in there.......then more look, and see some people in there, and seeing 8 ot 10, they wonder what's going on, so they check it out....and next thing ya know, ya got good fights.

I fly every now and then high heels it adds a different perspective to the game, and you know what they say "a change is good as a rest"

Squad manable B17s would be a good feature of the game :old:

I believe we have some Spitfires enabled in AvA this week, you might want to stop by.

Except apparently I'm bit of a glutton for punishment and I like to fly the F.1 for WW1 set ups and frankly I've become proficient enough at shooting myself down in that plane that I can do it offline without assistance from anyone else. :)

you know that's been my beef for years, why can't we crew a bomber with requests besides just 1 person, in the AW days  :old: ( i know its not the same game) we called them deathstars and on squad nights the radio chatter was always comical and just plain made it fun on long runs and made the flights alittle more sucessful

 :rofl :rofl

sounds like my experience in it last night.

i did notice one thing......a couple of times, recovering a stall, and tree/camel mating was imminent, i stood on the rudder, and brushed by them....prolonging my cartoon life for a few seconds.  :O

No nead for another MA...... the AVA is heading in the right direction I believe. It will not turn over in a short time. It takes time to build.
