13th TAS diversifying?
« on: September 04, 2001, 12:52:00 AM »
Noticed the 13th TAS numbers growing very fast, so I figured I would see who was joining.

I recognized several of the names as non-P-51 types, so I looked up the expanded kill stats....

Looks like a few of them are far from the types I thought the TAS recruited.

Is the TAS no longer going to be an all P-51 squad?

I think Animal would fit in nicely.

I hope they invite him.

Last I heard they were a N1K2 squad now.  Of course, so are the "Forked-Tailed Devils" or whatever that squad is that is recruiting P-38's.  Wonder if they want the P38 pilot as a diversion so they can take their N1K2s and dive on whoever attacks him.

I sure as hell am tired of seeing them in the MA.  They aren't superplanes, but they perform well enough that having 4 out of every 10 planes I see be N1K2s gets old fast.  Of course, if HTC perks it they'll just jump over to LA7s, because thats the next best plane.  I actually think the LA7's a better plane, but the N1K2 carries the guns so they can spray and pray if they want to, the LA7 doesn't.  Yea, I'm getting sick of seeing em all the whoopee time again- I guess the period where I didn't care much one way or the other is over... lasted almost a month anyway.

Midnight,

Had a few guys who were 13th during the beta and early tours show up for the new $$$ rate.  Also, old friends and Bish-Patriots "900th Bloody Jaguars" joined in for some combined squad action.

51s are default rides because they are the sleekest and sweetest machines in heaven but folks are encouraged to remain proficient in everything and fly whatever suites the mood.

Nice sig BTW  :D

urchin... I belive that there are NO LW squads that fly LW planes exclusively.   It's all kinda seedy.... cheapens the kill buffer....  Guys sees "grupenfuggin 2" at the end of a kill message and doesn't realize the guy got the kill in a spitfire or....

That the "twin boom terrors" are a niky squad.

In all fairness... 13 tas doesn't have "mustang" or "pony" or P51 written in it anywhere I can see.

We have now come full circle....it seems that the N1K works its way into threads in the most moronic ways....just like the F4U-C used to.

Like the wise man Toad once said, "Fly what you like, like what you fly.  Dont worry about what others are flying."  Or somesuch....

I have fond memories of flying for 13th TAS before 'Pony only' squad and so pleased to see 'em back wreaking havoc in anything they fly!   :)  - whatever they fly they'll kill in!   :)

Regards

Nexx

PS Rude... been flying the P51 more lately... forgot how sweet it sure is!   :)
