With all do respect for the guys doing all those missions over the weekend, nate's almost incessant yapping (read that squeeking) made it very difficult at times to hear the mission leader's instructions as well as the necessary "reports" that the mission leader needed to stay on top of the situation as well as keep the progress rolling.

My hat's off to 96Delta for his cool, experienced way in not only doing that but doing that through nate's incessant yapping.  

People were begging nate to use text (I heard people PLEAD for him to do that for almost 3 hours), but to no avail.  Yes, he's correct that many players told him to (usually please) shut up so that they could hear valuable info on the missions.  You'd have thought he would have taken the hint...they have only been telling him that for months.

I hate to see the kid leave but if my parents had brought him up--his most often flights would be to the woodshed.

ROX sir,  amen to this accurate sentiment for which I had been pondering how to best inform the community as to the frustration on both sides.


To those that defend 800nate while discrediting our opinions,  you guys simply don't understand the level of frustration when flying missions to have someone for MONTHS  interfere with Mission leaders,  question their judgements,  not allow them a chance to communicate effectively  (IE  SHUT UP WHEN NEEDED), make it harder to attract people together and enjoy a mission.  Furthermore to have someone, for months, unintentionally ruin missions by going into target prematurely like a lone bucking horse all the time.  It is hard enough to have people join a mission,  work with one another,  when you have one single person effectively ruining the mission which took effort to put together.  Worst of all never listening to our perspective.

It is THIS SINGLE problem that brought about a reaction from the community.  A valid kick back,  to which I know Nate was asked to leave at least 3 squads despite everyone's attempts to reason with him.

This is the internet. We don't see each other face to face. There's no influence of sex, age, race or experience beyond what you betray.

There's much looser social rules on the internet due to the anonymity inherent in it. If someone doesn't like you, chances are a lot greater that they'll tell you, as there will most likely be no physical repercussion, but on top of that there will very likely be no social repercussion. Good or bad (I tend to think it leads toward good), that's how it is, and it's not going to change.

Thus, if you want to be treated like a big boy, you have to act like a big boy, and if you get run out of town because you act like a sweetie , you're going to have to deal with it; that's how it works.

You can be 12 years old on the internet, and on online video games; I've done it. You can't be an immature brat online, though, and expect to be 'accepted'- no matter how old you are; and I don't feel sorry about that, not in the least, nor should anyone else.

My 9 year old kid only says "Hi" and talks to my close friends and squaddies.   I probably will not ever let him have an account.

Ah yes,  and forgot to mention that the .squelch command ceases to be effective when everyone else is heard telling him to be quiet and, in turn,  messes up the mission communication.

Don't play so innocent, you use the f bomb quite regularly in game. You will get picked on, and have crap said to you that you probably didn't want to hear no matter where you go, you just have to learn to roll with the punches.

Nate, I say this because I care, just like most, half, some people replying to this thread. First of all if you wanna quit go ahead don't need to sissy about it. Although you most likely won't leave because your still on my squad vox. If you do stay, you gotta stop annoying everybody. No offense, but you gotta stop with all this stuff. Think of this phrase 'WHAT'S THE POINT" I mean really you post on the forums I'm leaving. You lie to me saying you got kicked off the forums. You say you've been reported and lost your mic, so you have an excuse for nobody to squelch you. Just stop it, I don't trust anyone that lies the same as you. Your just a kid afterall, but here's the thing so am I. Stop having all these guys get to you, when they don't even care. There just a bunch of guys who like WW2, who want to enjoy their $14.99 spent on killing. Unlike most games, this one has a pretty small community and the kids stick out like a swore thumb. Still is good though because you got all these guys here backing you up. Now this is all on your descion. You can eather just do what these guys say and be a good kid. Who doesn't talk about stuff off topic yelling into other peoples ears, while their trying to get a important message threw. The other one is just toughen up like a man do what you want, long as it still follows the rules of the game. Like for starters don't be a poddy mouth. Now I can about this all day but the end fact is, don't be an immature kid. Simple be nice have fun and don't get peoples nerves.

Don't get me wrong Nate, you are fine stick and eager to learn... but really your biggest problem is that you don't know when it is appropriate to talk and when it isn't.

You flew with my squad for awhile, but we ended up asking you to go elsewhere because we all had to squelch you all of the time.  And for some reason, it was as if you would re log every ten minutes so we'd all have to squelch you yet again.  If we all have you on ignore, what's the point of having you in our squad?  Something tells me we weren't the only group of guys to go through that with you.

But still, don't let all of us run you away from the game.  You're a fine stick.. one of the best for your age group I've ever seen... and possibly even better than me!  But really you need to heed some advice.  If everyone is telling you to shut the <censored> up, then maybe you have to consider the possibility that you are in fact the problem.

As much as I hate to say it (because you are talented and want to learn so much) your name, 800nate, will NEVER be taken seriously in the Aces High community.  I honestly don't want to see you quit the game.  The best advice I can give is to change your in-game handle (you can do it through the in-game menus.. in the oclub I think) and then heed our advice... and keep your mouth shut.

Talking about the mission at hand is one thing.  Giving play-by-play reports is another.  Throw in the 'squeaker' aspect and it really does get to be grating, but it's to be expected.  Our biggest problem with you is that you have a habit of telling us what to do.  You're at that "I know everything" age and you have to take my word for it.. you don't.  And even if you ARE right, the LAST thing you want to do is criticize people that are three or four times your age that have been there, done that, and usually know better.  There are ways to get your point across without disrespecting the adults around you.

I know the last thing I like is to have a teenager tell me what I am doing is wrong (or even try to offer a better way)... whether this is true or not.  Until you are old enough to understand what the words "tact" and "respect" mean, the BEST thing you can do is to keep your opinions to yourself, keep your mouth shut, and just go with the flow and have fun with it.  After a while you will start to earn the respect of the community, and THEN you'll earn the right to start expressing your opinions.
