Oh, the hilarity of it all
« on: December 02, 2010, 08:58:06 AM »
One of my rare appearances in MW last night.

One sortie in SpitIX, found a P51 over my VBase with alt.  He makes a lame BnZ attack and dives to the deck, full wep for 10 miles.  Then he zooms up and continues to extend.  Then he turns and starts making one lame BnZ pass after another and zooms out of icon range each time.  Finally, when I run outta gas and land at the VBase, he swoops in and vulches me.  What skillz. :rofl

Then, I see a big fight at another of our VBases so go check it out.  Three planes vs one of ours, and a couple GV's on the ground.  Two of us on the ground kill troops and the GV, and dispatch 2 of the three planes to help out our friendly over head.  Next thing you see is a string of 9 dots coming from the airbase to the north.  4 formations of lancs, and heavy fighters to shut down the base with only 3 or so defenders.

Yeah, I don't miss that kind of stuff at all...but find it extremely hilarious.

I disagree with sending bunches like that to shut down a base. It just kills the fight.

With lite number in the arena if one set comes in it can get a fight going. Folks trying to get the buff and others trying to defend the buffs.

We had a base down south that had lots o buffs coming in. We were able to defend though as they were not very high.

I was in there the other day. There were 7 Satans playmates on one coutry and 1 player on each of the other two.

They were flying 4 sets of lancs and a few heavy f6fs and steamrolling undefended bases lol!!

I have been having a blast in MW.  Best game play in months.  The one problem is that I have noticed an uptick in trash talk as more LW players stop by during caps issues in LW.

Shuff did well clubbing baby seals in MW last night too.  Landed a P38J sortie of 18 kills I think it was......maybe it was 28 kills lol

Dot the 51 played his game and killed you.  Sounds like it was a grudge kill.  Who was it?

Not that I'm defending  the playmates but I've seen this from every country try logging on at 5:30 or 6:00 am central time almost bet u there will be a  group of bish on rolling the bases with either 0 or 1 rook or nit on. Rooks are guilty of the same thing. What's funny is when you up and stop this what can I say milking they always seem to stop and start attacking the lower number side opposite side of the map. Can't say I haven't been guilty of the hording or shutting down a base. Atleast I'm honest unlike some others that whine and complain when it's done to them and they never do it. Yea right

These cases are not rare for me, sometimes we are 3 or 4 of us defending a base and 10-12 trying for 20 or more minutes long, even closing the VH's, but even like that they can't take it even with the VH's down we just take off planes til the VH's are up they can work for 1hour or more to take that baes, off course I love it cuz i got a lot of kills

Was not a grudge kill...he had no idea who I was, and it was his first sortie of the new tour.  Not going to name names.  The hilarious part to me was he couldn't BnZ me to death (but almost bored me to death)...he had to wait until I was on the ground and rolling to a stop to get his kill.  I said nothing to him, because there is no point as I don't give a rip about dying.

HO is not my style.  I prefer a fight, which is also why I don't fly BnZ style either.

With all due respect Dot, before you came in last night we had a few good fights vs the bish in the south and defending against the knits in the north. We were spread apart to defend for a good part of the night. About when you came in most knits left except a few of em. Personally it was a change to attack something then to defend against the regular squads or hordes that are in MW normally.  :aok  Anyways, I agree it's not a lot of fun when defending against overwhelming numbers but it looks like that's the way the game is coming too for now. Hopefully some things will change in the future and good fights will come again.  :aok

While under usual conditions you would find fights quicker by going low number (which i usually highly recommend) it is not always the case.

In MW you may find yourself twiddling your thumbs waiting for anyone to come attack at times. When that happens I will look at the base count and how many folks are airborn on each side. I will pick the side that seems to be either underpowered or with the least amount of territory.

One side may have one or none while the two other sides fight it out in another area. That actually works great whenever there are low numbers in the arena.

It is always ebb and flow. You have to watch the game breathe.

Just because they have the same engine doesn't mean they will perform the same.  Believe the P-51B is a tad faster than the P-38J on the deck whereas the P-38J is faster than the Spitfire Mk IX on the deck.
