Yeah but they already fired off all the writers. They are going to have a guest writer for each episode.

Where did you find that out at?

Go to blastr.com, the syfy channel website news service.  They have daily articles that cover all facets of sci-fi, fantasy and science fact.  In some of the most recent articles covered the fact that Frank Darabont fired the writing staff since he either wrote or co-wrote the original 6 episodes.  More writers will be hired before production on second season next February.

Wow, didn't see that, before.

I thought Kirkman was doing most of the writing (or was being consulted)...

Looks like he is only writing the ones where major characters are killed off  :D

I was a bit let down by the season finale. If I had been talking to a Dr. that worked for the CDC, I would have asked a LOT more questions. How long can these things "live" before tissue deteriorates completely?

Furthermore, had I been around when the zombies came, I'd head as far north as possible. Poor zombies would be frozen stiff in the -20 or so weather. Easy pickins then.  :rock

Overall, really good show. It's rare these days for me to DVR anything, but this is one.

The whole CDC visit was not, as I recall, in the comic book, though I think it was a worthwhile addition to fill in viewers on the state of the world.  The big thing that is lacking here, and seems to be left out of most of these zombie apocalypse stories, is the middle-story of what happened as things went from intial outbreak to final societal collapse.  This episode at least gives a glimpse into that period.  "World War Z" will cover that in more depth, if it ever makes it to the big screen; however, it would have made an awesome mini-series as well.

I frankly find it hard to imagine that larger pockets of society here in America and elsewhere would not somehow manage to quarantine themselves and survive, if this virus was only passed along by being bitten by an infected.  Now, Dr. Jenner (the CDC guy in the last episode) mentions in his video log that the virus went suddenly and unnexpectedly global, which indicates there's something more nefarious at work.  Later, we find out...SPOILER...

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

Later, we find out that ANYONE who dies, even if they weren't bitten or otherwise directly infected, reanimate (i.e. come back as a zombie).  This could indicate that the entire world may in fact have been exposed to something, near simultaneously, that caused corpses to reanimate spontaneously.  Being bitten merely hastens the process by causing death sooner, rather than simply waiting for natural or accidental death.  Given that many thousands of people around the world die each day through natural causes, accidents, crime, and war, it's no wonder the world's population was turned so quickly.  This is especially true, given that the population would not initially understand what's going on, the how or why of it.  Still, with 80 million Americans possessing fire arms, and a significant military capability, I would still expect pockets of resistence to remain.  Nothing agains the French, but they're not the ones I'd expect to be the last to fall in this scenario (reference again to the season finaly of The Walking Dead).  The Swiss or the Israelis I would think would be more likely candidates for "last man standing".

I mean we can nitpick with anything made, I am enjoying Walking Dead for what it is. I did think to myself that certain military bases would be a lot safer than others. Edwards Airforce Base (Area 51) is fairly secluded and has a large amount of security as it is. Any Walkers in the area could be dealt with relatively easily.

As per it saying the French were last, he said they were the last disease control station to remain online. I would say that US and Russia would be last remaining due to large quantities of nuclear shelters and large expansions of territory with small population density with military bases (Siberia).

It is fun watching the show with friends, we have come up with our own theories and emergency plans during commercials.

I have suddenly and inexplicably gotten the urge to be more prepared and have cleaned all my weapons, sharpened my knives/axes/hatchets and have refilled all the consumables in my A.L.I.C.E pack.

Just saying...       :devil

I think its a patton m-60 tank with some sort of kit to make it look more modern.

Edit: Either that or a "chieftain" a British main battle tank.

Did you notice in the flashback hospital scene at the beginning where the one deputy was going back to rescue the main character....seemed like those soldiers were shooting/executing non-zombie hospital staff.

it may have been the case, or they were people who had been infected that hadnt turned yet. If they hadnt even been infected then they were liimiting possible zombies
