Skip bombs would be more appropriate in this game but that would take a little bit of work code wise to get them.

Does that matter? It's proof that its possible and can be a valuable addition to the game. In FA it was a technique of dropping the bombs which made them skip on the water. This link should prove the validity of skip bombing.    http://www.historynet.com/general-george-c-kenney-pioneer-of-aerial-warfare-strategy-and-tactics-in-world-war-iis-pacific-theater.htm

Sure it's possible, but we have to weight their value vs the time spent to create them.

Wouldn't this just be a physics modification to an existing bomb or bombs?

yes, but you would need a new 3D model, texture, lanc model, sspinner motor thing, flying characteristics, etc. the list is huge

dumpster diving i see...and wrong to boot.  :lol

wouldn't need a new bomber...and the skip bombing could probably be done by coding a dot command for fuse delay.

You would need a specially modified bomber.

What do we know about specially modified things in this game?

Skip bombing? I suppose.

Skip bombing was actually first used during the Guadalcanal campaign by B-17s of the 63rd BS using delayed fuses.

However, if you don't do it right:

you would at least have to edit the lanc III we have now, it had no true bomb doors, no mid-upper turret, (it was a modified lanc III after all) a "bouncing bomb spinning-mechanism" :lol spotlights to tell you how high, and the aircraft was named G for George-but thats just a new skin. there was also the reason for a bouncing bomb instead of just a couple of torps-- TORPEDO NETS-->we'd need to incorporate those too, somehow.

The purpose of skipping any trajectory, is just as they taught us with shotguns, if you aim on the ground the buck shot will bounce, stay near the ground & Take out the feet & ankles. With aircraft the bounce ensures it will hit near the water line, even id your aim ain't perfect.  :old:
