.............or just have an organized strategy to capture the base & town?   :bolt:      No "reworking" needed of the coad, only the lemmings who want to roll bases easier.

Wrongway,

Nice graphic illustration.  That would be awesome for use in the countryside, or even an extended area outside of the current village.  The hedge rows, were designed to cut down on soil erosion and were in the crop fields, if I am correct.  They just happened to become a useful barrier for defense.   Like in your illustration, they limited the line of sight, so troop placement and movement was hidden from field to field.  There are a number of interesting strategies to be employed if they weren't indestructible items as they are now.  However, this in itself only addresses the ground effort to attack a town.

Ask and ye shall receive.....

Quote
Added the a new host system variable that controls how much of the town needs to be destroyed before it can be captured.  There is a flag flying in each town that will be swapped out for a white surrender flag when the damage threshold is reached.  At that point troops can be used to make the capture.  The initial setting will be at 50% and we'll adjust it from there if needed.

This was taken from the new version!

My ignorance is probably no worse then yours but I think they existed for hundreds of years prior as a agriculture feature.  I would expect that the hedgerows are still there to whatever extent farming in France still occurs.

They actually fixed it now. They made it as simple as possible while still requiring you to show up.

You can put in a quarter and play it.

Isn't that the truth. Flag idea is ok but leave town as it was.
No on second  thought even flag idea as is not a good idea.
Maybe have flag turn white with a certain percentage of buildings still up.
Half of the fun of defending a town was watching troops being dropped
with a building or two still up. Why take all of the effort
out of a town capture.
