128mb pc-133 Ram
bla bla bla

P.S.  Since I reinstalled windows I lost all mu topic info on the board, sorry if miss any reply's to topics.

Free Windows ME - that's about what it's worth. Just another incremental upgrade from Microsoft yet priced at retail. Win2k Pro would be the better piece but still, so early into the release, is it even stable and leaned out. Win95 and Win98 both took a couple of revs to finally be the software they should have been in the first place.

I ran WindowsMe for a few months and found it very stable, and the utility that lets you recover your system in a driver accident is priceless.

I came back to 98 for some reasons
run WinMe for two weeks and if its running FINE, keep it. If in two weeks you are having trouble, go back to win98 and dont waste more time.

I wouldn't bother with ME MEself.  Why anyone would pay MonEy for ME is beyond ME?  ME MakEs your coMputEr slower and adds nothing useful IMO.

WinME can be made a lot smoother by some tweaks. It's basically just a bloated W98 so once you cut out the crap it will run just as fine.. I wouldn't install ME because I can't see what it would bring to my computer that I actually need.

Call me a throwback, but I'm still running Win95R2. I tried 98 but it cut into my AH framerate and I just canna allow that to happen! I run 98 at work and have considered 2kPro, but until I actually need the new features, I see no need to upgrade. Everything runs fine and fast at home and tolerable at work. (can't play AH at work - just bad for the business image)

Win98 was born when MS was trying to cripple Netscape by tying Internet Explorer in every which-way possible even though it was at the expense of stability and efficiency. Win98 took the hit and Win2k was an attempt to recover from that and get the Justice Department off their back... besides fixing all the bugs.

WinME is just an egotistically-named interim release (Win2k bastardized-lite) with a few kernel tweaks so MS could rake in yet another wheelbarrow of cash.

The laugh is the promo for WinXP - another revision to miss. They are promoting it for "everyone else" and used somebody's mom to demo how easy it is to use. Translation - it is insanely protected from tweaking and overburdened by crap to help the people that don't have a clue how to put grandbaby Jessica's picture up as wallpaper. Oh, and they changed the default colors. I'll drop $150 to upgrade for that... not.

So when is HTC coming out with a Linux version of AH?

Immediately remove from your computer and then take the CD outside and burn it.  Once burnt, gather whats left of the ashes etc and mix with oil, stir well, burn again and bury the residue at least 10ft deep.

Actually I have been messing with WinMe for a month now and its running flawlessly, i uses fremem to restrict it to only using 32mb of ram total and everthing else goes to AH RS or whatever other proggy Im runnning.  I like it so far.
