Urchin, the Spit V is dogmeat against the N1K2?

In my experience, it's the other way around.  The Spit V will easily outturn the N1K, so any N1K driver silly enough to get turning with one will probably pay.  In addition, it's very difficult for a N1K to disengage from a Spit V in such a fight once it gets started.

SOB: A fat big target. Turns well in bed (due to spheric shape). Excellent (and flatulent) gun package with the Beer-&-Wings option. This will slow his turn rate.
Has plenty of gas, poor climb rate, excellent armor.

Very poor endurance though.

Urchin,

The A6M5b eats N1K2-Js for lunch.  N1K2 pilots almost always try to turn with it, and then they die.  The N1K2 has to use BnZ tactics or Hellcat vs. Zero tactics to beat it, but most never try.

Where'd ya get the idea that the A6M5b is dogmeat against an N1K2-J?

I got the idea from personal experience... I never have any trouble killing zeros when I'm in a N1K2, and they don't seem to have much trouble killing me when I'm in a zero.

Then again, I'm not the best zero pilot around, so I'm probably doing something wrong.

Why do you see so few typhoons in the MA? I flew one many times last night and liked it allot. Awesome cockpit, lol and great views. Good guns fast as hell. Killed some Niks and Spits.  I tried out the LA7 and it’s a good plane.. I took out a P38 and damaged or maybe killed a Nik when I was outnumbered 5 to one lol and landed it. Even after some bastage in a 190 took my tail wheel and left aileron!  I don't like the plane much though, I had a hard time with the guns and now that I have sat in one I know its biggest two weaknesses, small gun sight and bad vis out of the cockpit.

So is the Tiffie underrated or what?

Not sure if it is so much underrated as underused.  It is a pretty good plane, similar to the Dora in a lot of ways.  I believe the Dora is slightly faster on the deck, and rolls better.  Turning is similar (which is to say they both can't turn), climb rate is similar on the deck I believe.  The Tiffie has better guns, with 4x Hispano, but doesn't have much ammo for the guns.
