Rule 5 of forum posting.  5- Members are asked to not act as "back seat moderators". If you feel a post violates the forum rules, the use the "Report to Moderator" link in the post to report it.

Why should we have a meaningful discussion of something that has already been discussed over and over.  Unless there is a new twist, the OP its just hoping that somehow them saying it will make all the difference.  I don't really care, post what you want, but are we suppose to just ignore these threads until someone posts a "why is no one helping the new guys" thread.

I agree that sometimes things go overboard, I'm sure I've pushed the limit before.  Although this should be a helpful place, this isn't the land of fluffy bunnies and friendly sheep.  I think it's okay to respond with a simple, use the search, this has been discussed before.  If a guy can't handle what is mostly light hearted poking, they won't stay in the game long anyway.

I am in no way trying to moderate. I opened a serious discussion to an issue I feel needs addressed. Which has already been turned into a joke by trolls.

What Jayhawk said.

It gets hard sometimes when the latest post shows up, asking for something for the 87th time because someone happened across it on Wiki`and thinks they've found something new.

I'm sure some of the regulars here would have their own list of 'not again' wishes.

Mine include 4 cannon Spitfires, or 4 cannon Mustangs.  Throw in the Luftwaffe 46 birds, and it's enough to make ya weep sometimes.

I agree 100% with the message but the means of achieving it are the issue. Instead of rudely saying use the search function, how about posting the link to the previously discussed topic? This would avoid countless replies of emoticons in response to someones obnoxious posts.

None of us want to use the search feature, when you should have in the first place.

You did "attempt moderation" violating Rule #5.   Tec beat a couple of us to it.

Then dont get involved in the discussion if you have nothing meaningful to contribute.
