I almost die today!

I wOke up 3:30 in the morning. Something was wrong with me. My chest was hurting and no feeling on left arm.  My god, I was having a heart attack!  Got to the hospital, and rush me to the surgery. One of my arteries was 100% blocked.  This sucks! I am 37, do not drink, smoke, I eat healthy and run.  So I will be away for a while.

I know what you are going through Man. I had a massive Heart Attack at the Age of 36 my only downfall is that I smoked and my screwed up working hours as a Paramedic and the poor sleep schedule still have, That is when I made my return to AH while I was outa Work. Oak I hope your employer offers you short term disability or something cause I was outa work for almost 3 months and fell so far behind on bills and still playing catch up with em. I was actually afraid to goto sleep at night after the heart attack with the fear of not Waking up cause Most of your Heart Attacks happen while your at rest and during the Prime hours of sleeping.

If ya  need any oneone to talk to pm man I will talk. But now your on the Cardiac Cocktail medications now for the rest of your life to keep your Blood thin around the Cath site

I caught mine in time but at the time of my heart attack I was denying it was happening and beign a stubborn Paramedic say it was my heart burn.

It's a bitter irony that his healthy lifestyle could not overcome whatever predisposition he had to cardiac problems, where someone like me hasn't yet suffered a similar fate despite a very unhealthy lifestyle.

The big difference is that his healthy lifestyle may be what enabled him to survive this.

If I don't start taking my health more seriously and my unhealthy choices overcome any genetic protection I have, I may not be able to survive a heart attack.

Congratulations Oak, on being a survivor.
