ALT-TAB lockups
« on: May 09, 2001, 10:25:00 AM »
Hi all,

I recently built a new machine and when i ALT-TAB in AH everything locks up. numlock etc do nothing dead as a dodo. Reset is the only option.

When I ALT-TAB the top half of the screen is painted onto the bottom half.

My machine is;

AMD Athlon 1.1Ghz
Abit KT7-RAID
Voodoo 5 5500 + latest drivers
SB live platinum + latest drivers
128Mb x 2 Crucial running agressive memory timings
2xIBM deskstar 25Gb disks in RAID-0
Windows 98 with sp loaded.

Latest drivers refers to last november time frame.

Any Ideas?

I had an issues with alt-tab lockups. The solution for me was to be very deliberate in alt-tabbing, i.e. hit alt, then tab, hold for a while and release.  So far so good.

I'm running a celeron 566 overclocked to 850, SB Live Value, Geforce2 MX, Direct X 7.0a. 256K cas3 generic memory on an ABIT BX6 rev 1 mobo.

Make sure your desktop and AH resolutions and refresh rates are both the same.

How do you tell the refresh rate the game is using?
