I wouldn't say the last 2 years makes them one....and if you aren't perennially at the top or close to it I wouldn't say they are a powerhouse.

what gets me is voters put BIG 10 at the top year after year and then they get blown out in the BCS when they put out of conference teams .. atleast over the past 6 years  thats been the case. this year the big 10 has been exposed for the fraud it is without a doubt. just like UGA getting beat by a C-USA team a Non-BCS put the screws to a supposely #4 team in the nation.  even though TCU was ranked #3,  wisconsin was overrated to start with though. i dont understand how voters think the BIG 10 deserves such a high ranking when the past 7=8 seasons in bowl games they had only one winning bowl game. i bring as example when cincy was ranked #3 from the big east and got waxed in their BCS game. who thought they was ranked #3? cause of a record?? like Oregon SoS is in the yupper 70's and Auburn's SoS was like 11, Oregon had a 7x easier schedule to go undefeated then Auburn and somehow they are worthy of a #2 ranking???

"I do know, having been both a Southeastern Conference president and a Big Ten president, that it's like murderer's row every week for these schools," Gee said in late November. "We do not play the Little Sisters of the Poor. We play very fine schools on any given day.

"So I think until a university runs through that gauntlet that there's some reason to believe that they not be the best teams to [be] in the big ballgame."

With the win Ohio is first in BCS wins.  The Buckeyes have 6.  They've surpassed Fla. and USC with each having 5.

I know there are a large portion of Ohio State University haters out there.  But you have to admit that every year

they reload and always end up in the top 10.  Most times in the top 5.  Not many programs can say that.  Even programs in

the SEC which I agree at this time is the best conference in the country in football.  But as always, things change.

Yes, but whether or not they win the National Championship is another matter entirely. The last 3 years, an SEC team has won it. The last three years, an SEC team has pulled it away from the Buckeyes twice. The SEC can finish whereas Ohio State has proven that they have trouble doing so.
Ohio State is a great team, no doubt, but they lack the ability to finish some games.

Wildcat....ya they lost 3 and won one this decade........point is one team has been there 4 times.

How many other teams can say that?  And.....OSU beat the Oregon team that is in the National

Championship game this year in the rose Bowl last year.  As I remember auburn barely won last year

against a big ten team that finished in the middle of the big ten race. Also check the Bowl records from last year.

I think you'll find that the Big Ten did very very well.

Thank you for validating my point in the previous post.  Florida won't be in the top 5, neither will teams

like Alabama, Ark S Carolina etc.  Ohio State is as stated above top ten always top 5 most of the time.

Year after year.  Also....has been some talk about moving Bowl games up north.  If the SEC had to

play games in the weather up north they'd build teams as the Big Ten does.  Wonder how they'd do

in 20 degree weather instead of playing in perfect weather conditions all year? (no snow, no cold wind, no ice)

Football much more difficult to kick or throw in cold weather.  I also must point out that Ohio State has the record

for most 1st round draft picks in a single draft and most 1st round picks over all plus 7 Heisman Trophies.

How many SEC schools come close?  Football was made to play in all weather not just where it is warm.

Remember....the NFL started in Canton Ohio.  I agree at this time SEC is the most competitive conference.

Being 61 years old I also know that changes with time.  But Ohio State no matter what conference, is there

year after year.  What's happened to texas? USC? Florida is on the way down etc.  With time comes change.

That is vary true.  OSU keeps up as a good program from coach to coach. while other schools struggle to replace the previous coach that had winning seasons.
