Shuffler it was too big of a coincidence for it to not feel like something was amiss.  We hadn't even started to show a dar at the base yet.  The goon was way ahead of the attack formation.

Sure it could still be a coincidence but when the spit driver was pm'd and asked how he came by the goon he even went as far to say he was in a different aircraft.  Obviously hiding something.  If you are gonna spy at least have some skill about it.  This guy was a moron about it.

But the coincidence may just be a asumption (<< misspelled so mods don't change it) on your part.
You PM'd the guy? Did you PM the guy in the spit? Are you sure?

I only ask as some folks seem to think there are spies at work when in actuality there are none. I'm not saying it doesn't happen.

You ascertain that your group was not in the dar ring. Were they making a darbar in that sector? There are several things that can give away the other sides movements.

sounds like one of the very few genuine cases to me. had this once last year, 2 NOE missions in a row busted - planes flying on a direct heading to us. same guys both times. there was only 4 or 5 of us on, we must have pissed someone off earlier I guess.  I'd forgotten who it was by the next time I logged in.

someone in our squad receives a pm with spy info at least once a month. despite the fact that we never use it or pass it on, and tell the spy that. I usually go further and reply to the spy on 200. publicly name and shame the spy is the best and only thing you can do. but only if you're sure who it is.

now the other 99.9%. last night I had several players on country saying I was a spy trying to sink our CV by not evading buffs. actually I was in command of it after it sunk for the 8" guns and then for some reason I was still in command after it respawned (thought u got kicked from command when it respawns - bug?). no one could see who was commanding it (definitely a bug) so the accusations started flying.

I have received exactly 2 PMs with info about something going down on the other side. They were from different people. I announced on 200 that someone in a mission (NSEW) was trying to pass info to me on their whereabouts.

Both times folks in those missions thanked me. Both times no one on the side I was on asked what the info was.

There are far more good folks on than most think.

Enough guys!  Did not mean to start up an idiotfest. Just thought there were more folks with a little more self-respect and integrity than this. I was wrong.

So telling you that

- there is less spying than usually is being claimed
- that shutting down cross-country communication and greatly restricting side switching is not hurting any actual "spies" but only the game community as a whole

is having no integrity?
