This is a sad day for Tucson,  Representative Giffords has survived surgery, who knows what kind of recovery she can make?

The shooter seems to be a wacko with no particular political motive other than being a damn nut job who thought the Gov't is brainwashing people through grammar and other crazy things.

Giffords isn't in my district and not someone I would vote for, but she is a likable, attractive lady known for spending a lot of time talking with the folks and some psycho bastage took advantage of her accessibility.

Many families were destroyed today.

The whole thing just sucks.

Pointless and reprehensible attack.  I hope she makes a full recovery.  Sadly, six will not.


Further, the use of this incident for political gain has not been forgotten by some.  Shame on them.

Lets not talk about killing the guy after what he did.  His time will come, if not now, it will be his maker.  Event like this is a time we put our difference aside and pray that Gabrielle will make it along with the others that where shot.  And morn for those that lost their lives.

News was saying that the judge had recieved numerous death threats well before any of this happened...   :headscratch:

I agree, and the fact that this guys rambling nutty youtube videos and such show no identifiable political persuasion, makes me even angrier that there are those trying to connect him to political beliefs they don't like.

All info seems to indicate that the judge was not the target but just happened to be there to support Giffords.

Arizona does indeed have the death penalty.
