I figured this would be as good a week as any to play around with the P-39D. My prior experience with the plane suggested that it tied with the P-40B for worst fighter in AH2, and that sending Americans to fly them against Zekes bordered on criminality. I have now moderated these views - somewhat. Once you grasp the twin notions that the plane can't climb and can't turn to the right, it's not such a bad ride. Having that huge rudder makes for some interesting shooting and/or escape opportunities. AND there's nothing like the thrill of connecting with the tater.
Not that I'm going to pick this for my favorite plane, you understand, but it's been fun learning a new mount.
