Ditching ON airfield
« on: January 13, 2011, 10:03:05 PM »
can we get it changed so that if you ditch next to the runway you still get credit for your kills? Had 3 kills but was engine out and rolled off runway before i could get plane stoped so didnt get credit for them.

YES it matters. The game is no fun if you take away the possibility of failure.

Dude if you loose your engine just belly land on the runway.  You won't slide off if you do it right.

You got credit for the kills, just not your name in the lights.  It's a ridiculous wish. You have to land within the determined boundaries to get full credit.  Why is that so hard to accept.

Seems reasonable, but part of the fun is that concrete is the determiner.  So when you're down some parts and under attack and you land some kills is that much more satisfying,
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

So I'm comin' in hot.

Oil pressure and fuel level are both near zero.

Half a wing is missing.

This is gonna be close. Is my speed right? Check my list. Have I got gear? Man, this game gets intense sometimes. That runway looks like a narrow target.

Oh wait, I just gotta flop her down anywhere on the field. Oh heck, no big deal then. I thought this game was exciting for a minute.

Yeah, landing a B-26 with no elevators just wouldn't be as hot.

Did I mention I once landed a B-26 with no elevators?  :airplane:

i once landed a b26 with no tail.  some guy vulched me as i was landing and somehow I ended up on runway :).  with no elevators, i have several videos somewhere.  but in rl it wouldnt have happened, you would flip and nose dive for a vertical landing.

as for the wish, well you did mentioned ditching on airfield, so the title is misleading therefore you lost all credibility. wait till mr finds out you are misleading people.

maybe for German and RAF aircraft that did not need concrete  runways  you could land on any part of a field but you need to have wheels down  other wise it's a ditch . I would class a landing as being controlled not a belly flop.

Anytime I hear the term "ditching" used with aircraft, I think of a water landing. landing next to the runway should be "landing next to the runway"
