Don't place too much emphasis on frames per second
« on: January 15, 2011, 01:17:54 PM »
Current HDTV and movie standard fps is 24, 25, and 30 frames per second.
If you're getting that on your monitor, you're doing just as well as your Samsung flat screen TV.

im gonna have to disagree with u on this one. When I 1st started AH I was getting 25-30 fps. I built my own rig and now pull steady 59-60 and life is soooo much better

Same here.. First year I played I averaged 20-25 fps.. Upgraded my rig and video card and get 59-60 fps now.. There is a huge difference.

I get 59-60 fps consistantly.  The only exception is when there are lots of smoke from burning hangers and other OBJ, then it plummets to 30-40 fps.

I get a kick out of the "I get 120+ fps" for whatever rinky dink reason.  They forget that their monitor is still on ly good for 60 fps.   :rofl

My FPS is usually 75 FPS.  I think that's nonsense but it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy regardless.

TV looks better at 30 fps because it blurs the image a touch between frames.  Games normally don't have that.  45 fps is the magic number for most games (to be fairly smooth), while going as high as your monitor will allow will help even more.
