I am getting pretty sick of getting shot up by guns firing through bushes and buildings.  It is crap. Especially in some of the terrains which are heavily forrested where you must get close to even see the gun.  Please fix.

Player vs player, it's all about line of sight.  If they can see you, and get the rounds to fly LOS, they can hit you.

I fired at a brown splotch in the middle of some trees one night and killed a T-34/85.

Even without LOS, hits are possible.  You can fire over an obstacle, at tracers coming at you or a visible pintle gun for instance, and arc the shells in on the unseen target.

I agree, I have spent 5-6 rounds just trying to find the right trajectory just to get a round past a tree or branches to get a hit.

I would speculate that the same hardware or software issue which makes it look like some individuals are taking off over water to the right of the CV may come into play. Sort of like on your screen they are behind a hill or trees, yet on their screen, they are in an open field...  :salute

I would have to be +1 on this issue, we should be able to drive over bushes and a least shoot a tree to clear it.

Any real-life tankers out there?

Is it standard practice to drive through trees?

Fire rounds through trees?

I get the "shoot the tree until it's gone" scenario, but either way rounds are hitting the tree.

I was an engineer equipment operator while I was in the Marine Corps.  We used to clear LZ's and just about anything we wanted to using our dozers.  Now I know that is a bulldozer but an M60 or an M1 has enough torque to push over tress just as well.  Heck even an Amtrac can push trees down.  We also use to use the old 105mm howitzers to clear an area with what was a round similar to buckshot.  It would leverl trees and bushes low anough to bring in helos.  Not what you want to do if you have other assets to do the job but it can be done.  In addition, if an HE round hits a tree you can pretty much say the tree is gone.  It will be blown down at the point of impact.  An AP round may blow the tree down or keep on trucking but it may lose a lot of its kinetic energy.  Now as far as branches and leaves stopping an AP round. No way.  The round will go through.  Given though the longer the range at which the round hits the bush it will decrease penetration.  I know this is a game but I do get frustrated when a tiny bush flips a tank when in real life you would roll right over the bush.  Same as the poor little sheep we use to have.  I just dont know how it can be modeled to give us a balance?
