You gotta give Germany some credit for training.. 1939-1943.

After that I'd agree with you, it was pretty much poo.

At the beginning of the war, the most experienced and trained pilots were the pilots of the IJAF and the IJN.  Their training was on par, if not exceeded that of the Luftwaffe and unlike the Luftwaffe, the majority of the Japanese pilots were already combat veterans compared to the handful of German pilots that gained experience during the Spanish Civil War. At the onset of hostilities, the Luftwaffe was just as inexperienced as the RAF.

The quality of Japanese pilots and training didn't decline until 1943.  So to say that out of the Axis powers that Germany was the better trained and experience air force in incorrect and I suspect most picked Germany out of ignorance and bias.

Oh I can hardly contain myself for the next thread.

Beside this is all subjective. It's rather pointless. Not knowing anyones credentials other than maybe WideWings (and haven't seen him in ages), I assume most of us are not classified as Historical Military Experts.   That being said this entire thread is like comparing BMWs to Infinities to Fiats.

its just a fun competition of opinions, to find out what everyone thinks is the best of each class. plus some of us can learn some things too. i have.
