personaly I think this is just humans playing with something they have no business messing with,  once they start to clone humans(if they havnt done it allready, which I believe they have) they will say this is proof God doesnt exist, they will extend human life to hundreds of years, and make you take on a microchip so they "Know" who you are......dont believe them, once this age is over, the next age is permanent .  And trust me, a place with no love is not gonna be a good or fun place.....forever....
there is alot of other prove that points to god existing and not existing. but lets not turn this into a religious argument.

yes, i agree with you aswell, i believe humans have been cloned before in the past in secret.

I'd pay a few bucks for a mammoth burger, no question about it.  I tried buffalo burgers on a whim and it turned out to be very tasty.  Mammoth might taste pretty good too, but we'll never know until we grow one and throw it on the grill.

No religious topics allowed ;-) but ya I absolutly believe they have cloned people allready,  I watched this scientist talking about extending life, and cloning our selves, so when a person gets a disease, they will remove the diseased cells and replace them with the cloned ones, his exact words were "we are going to make death obsolete"  pretty messed up.

No religious topics on here, firstly, but that seems like a very sweeping argument.  Back it up, and maybe we'll believe you.

making death obsolete would be the worst thing we could ever do.

i mean no disrespect to victims  or anyone else by saying this, but life-threatening diseases etc are how nature keeps the human population in check.aids, cancer, etc. HORRIBLE diseases but nessasary for life. imagine if there was no way for us to die? how fast the world would become overpopulated. we would pretty much wreck the world trying to make room for us all, or become like china adopting the 1 girl 1 boy policy.

I liked talking about what a mammoth might taste like. You guys are getting deep.

I already have thoughts of mammoth bacon and mammoth brisket.

Maybe we could get a grant or something do this thing right.

this type of attitude is why they went extinct in the first place.

The mastodon became extinct after the ice age that allowed it to flourish reversed itself and ithe animals' native habitats became more temperate, and therefore unsurvivable for the highly developed animal. The radical change in climate killed off massive numbers, and whatever number claimed by early man is insignificant. Secondly, early man hunted for survival, not for sport, so it is not this view that caused the species' demise.

Careful, your ignorance is showing.

By analyzing several occurrences of overpopulation in earlier histories, we can see that overpopulation swiftly leads back to a much more sustainable number. Whether it be war, famine, disease, or disaster, the population always regresses back to an ideal level.

Where would bacon come off of a mammoth?

I'm also wondering how many people you could feed with a rack of mammoth ribs, but somewhat concerned with how it would be served.  Would you have to cut it crosswise and then serve on a platter?  Or admit defeat and remove from the bone before serving?  Or maybe just slow cook it for a day or two, then slap one down lengthwise on a big table and let everyone pick off of it with a fork and knife?  The flintstones showed how it could be done at a drive-through, but that must have been baby back mammoth ribs to be able to fit a whole rack on one tray...

its not gonna get to that point, we are gonna destroy ourselves before it ever becomes so overpopulated, not every one is gonna die but I see 2/3 of the world are gonna be toast, if not by our own hands then by a "natural" occurence, but I think its prolly gonna be by our own hands.         Penguin~there is nothing I can say here that will not break the "religious rule"  pm me if you would like to talk further.

This is a theory my friend they do not know for sure why they became extinct.

On "Messing with nature"
Quote
Nature has set no term to the perfection of human faculties; that the perfectibility of man is truly indefinite; and that the progress of this perfectibility, from now onwards independent of any power that might wish to halt it, has no other limit than the duration of the globe upon which nature has cast us. This progress will doubtless vary in speed, but it will never be reversed as long as the earth occupies its present place in the system of the universe, and as long as the general laws of this system produce neither a general cataclysm nor such changes as will deprive the human race of its present faculties and its present resources.

Pigs are vaguely related to elephants, and mammoths! It wishfull thinking, lets wish for mammoth bacon.

The Flintstones had technology we could never dream of, there are alot fo thing we will never understand about them, such as how their feet could produce enough horse power to drive a car made mostly of rock. Their genius is sadly lost in time.
