winning hi alt fights
« on: January 21, 2011, 06:22:10 PM »
I have a question for the uber sticks out there.  I like to get into high altitude fights above 15k but I have one problem:  I don't know how to shoot down the other guy without getting the upper hand and then driving them down to the ground where I can corner them.  When there is more than one nme I can't even do this because it would mean blowing my e.  It seems there is just too much room to manover defensively.  Any tips?  Minus five points to the first guy that says HO them.

dont go alone ever, also if you think their 15k go higher and dive in the dive away with a squadie or friend. 2 times the BBs means a higher chance of hitting the target.

PM sent.   :aok

Dominate the fight, maintain the tempo.  Make them fight your fight, dont fight theirs.

If you engage them and they dive out to get away...you have 2 choices...1. Follow him and kill him when he runs out of room to run. 2. Dont follow him.

An important factor in high altitude fighting is throttle control.  I've been in a lot of high altitude fights were the other guy lost the advantage because he couldn't control his speed and at high altitudes, it's much more important to control your speed than it is at lower altitudes where the air is much thicker.

especially in fights 15k and above you can easily loose track of speed and break your wings off or compress I a shallow dive

If there is one person (other than "chalenge") that knows about high alts. That would be AKAK.

Here is a screen shot of AKAK the other night.

You have too keep your speed up, manuvering at high alts around 20k, you should use flaps for even the simplistic maneuvers.

Keep your speed up and use flaps dose not compute in most airplanes.
