When the B-29 becomes available,I shouldn't think it will be a hangar queen.I'm thinking the sky will be filled with B-29's.Just a thought, and I wonder how they will handle the automatic turrets? They had to have a flight engineer to handle keeping the four engines running well.A very advanced airplane for it's day.

Irondog, right now Arabian Knights (squad I am in) is flying Knights.  The first time you wanna fly one of these big beautiful babies you let me know and I will escort you no matter how long a mission you choose.

BTW, if you are not a Knight, definitly let me know, however "escort" is most likely not the term to describe my actions  :huh

That's been the Arabian Knights modus operandi ever since they've been in AH.  They have been only one of a very few squadrons that would routinely switch countries.  Though their ranks have shrunken over the years but when they were at their height, they were an excellent example of a large squadron that "got it" and were never a problem like some of the more recent "mega-squadrons".

I believe this is purely a matter of personal opinion. Why would a bomber pilot rack up more perks in fighters than bombers, when they mostly fly bombers? It doesn't make sense. If you bomb all the time, bomber perks will be no issue. Same goes with fighter perks; if you're in a fighter all the time, you'll have a plethora of fighter perks.
I think its a very big issue. i bomb and fight alot, i have aound 700 fighter perks and 300 bomber perks, i spend around a hundred fighter perks a day and make it back very quick if i die. i have not spent a bomber point. ever. bomber points are very hard to accumulate on my opinion. doing tactical stricks on the capital only yield me around 2 perks on an amazing run. if i shoot down a fighter, 4, great.

I must be doing something wrong, I only have 3000 perks.  :(

LOL and I thought I was doing it wrong... in almost 2 years I've managed to accumulate just shy of 500 bomber perkies, and when I realized I had tht many I almost upped a set of 234's just to auger them on purpose!

I hope so...if not at least half of what the ME 262 usually is. Maybe 130-175 per plane.

Dumb..... whos going to climb these things to 30k all the time anyway. 2 sets of lancs can do the same damage and they are free. Unless the b29 is made of kevlar i see no real reason to over perk this plane. To solve the issue of players using it for a gv buster just code it so you cannot drop eggs unless your in the tube. This feature should be used on the 24's, 17's and lancs also.

Fly a town smashing run or two in a Betty.  You can really rack up the points fast in that one.

Yes the B29 was VERY advanced, it had several 1st's.....the messiest was the lead computing gun laying analog computer system for the defensive armament. That system when it worked was incredible, but was very unreliable and a real pain to maintain due to very poor quality control during the manufacturing process, this system alone was responsible for long delivery delays. The gunners could control one or all the turrets at the same time (just like in game already) and rather than be in electrically heated flying suits the gunners were in a pressurized, heated cabin without the bulky fur lined heavy flying jackets or gloves. The concern for comfort of the crew started with the B-29s which also included a galley and a toilet of sorts.

Awesome to be in shirt sleeves at 30K where your skin would almost instantly freeze if exposed to outside ambient air temps and barometric pressure.

I never agreed with perking bombers!  :bhead

Perking large ord is the best way to go.  For the amount of destruction a 1k, 2k, 4k nuke; it's easy mode.

Perking B-29 won't keep thousands to be in the air at once - perking ord will.  Then you will see more Bostons, JU-88's and KI-67's in the air.

What tendency?  The Mosquito Mk XVI was introduced as a perk plane.  The only unit that was ever deperked was the Ta-152, while the F4U-1C, Firefly VC and M4A3 (76mm) were all introduced free and later perked.
