IAS up to 400 Km/h and then switches to TAS above 400km/h, if I'm not mistaken.

Red Needle (IAS - Indicated Air Speed)  works until 400km/h then   (see below)

Black portion currently below 400 (TAS - True Air Speed) takes over (not sure if IAS continues)

This eBay seller specializes in Luftwaffe items.

I didn't see your gauge on his listings but he has this airspeed gauge.

I don't know whether or not it's worth as much as he is asking. I'd imagine your would be similar in price, if not more.

Very interesting, where did the tag on it come from?

The reason I ask is that the 262 was not even into production and was still in the prototype phase in May 1943.

Maybe that says May 1945 and his relative removed it from a plane at an occupied airfield?

upon careful inspection we are at odds on the writing.  i think it looks like 45...

the story goes...he was a machine gun repairman and came across the downed 262 in germany and the supply seargeant and others stripped it.  this was the piece he brought home.  (i know this is true as i have seen other things which i will not list here that would blow your mind.  i knew him and it's definately legit. )

if you look at the tag you can see the date and decide for yourself.

it is in his handwriting.
