This week in the AVA-- Battle of Britain
« on: February 04, 2011, 12:42:42 PM »

THE FIELD OF HUMAN CONFLICT

What General Weygand called the Battle of France is over.
I expect that the Battle of Britain is about to begin.
Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization.
Upon it depends our own British life, and the long continuity
of our institutions and our Empire.  The whole fury and might
of the enemy must very soon be turned on us.  Hitler knows that
he will have to break us in this island or lose the war.  If we
can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the
world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands.  But if we
fail, then the whole world, including the United States,
including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into
the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more
protracted, by the lights of perverted science.  Let us
therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves
that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a
thousand years, men will still say, "This was their finest hour."

- Winston Churchill to the House of Commons, June 18, 1940.

Odd how this setup continues to change over time.  I remember how the 110 used to dominate.

Excellent fights tonight folks, thank you.

Flew both the 109 and 110 tonight. Awesome fights on both sides. Losses and kills seemed to be about equal. I gotta admit, while the 109 is a fun ride, I'll stick with flying the 110. I just like having extra parts and engines to throw away when needed. :)

If I recall correctly, the 110C can outrun the Spit1 and Hurri1. I just kept my speed up through most of my fights and didn't have too much trouble with them. Energy retention is better, and is so much more rugged, since the Brit planes only have peashooters to attack you with.

<S> all.

I flew in AvA for first time last night, really had a blast. Still working on learning AH, and I missed a bunch of conversation on ch200 until I tuned it. I had more fun in 2 sorties last night than I've had in 2 weeks in the MAs so far. Although, to be fair, part of that is due to just getting better at remembering not to augur in, and to remember which button I made the guns.

Need to figure out VOX next...

ya I had a good night and frustrating night seems like I was the Golden child for slaughters from Plazus man i could not shake his big flying plane last night and when I thought I did pull something off I saw parts coming off the plane Vital Ones that I needed, my flight crew walked out and I ran out of ducktape last night so if anyone has some extra cases of Duct tape or super glue ya can leave it in my hanger cause I will most likely need it again tonight

Hey Plazus!  Great to see you in the AvA!

It's all CAP's fault! He kidnapped me, locked me in the AvA, and pointed and laughed. He told me that I was stuck here forever!!!
