doesnt the N have a larger, laminar flow wing? which suggest a bit less drag, but less stall warning?

I agree with JUGgler.  Very different in feel.  Both very capable dog fighters though, although you can't fight them completely the same.

I've had a bunch of fights recently vs JUGgler in some kind of JUG and me in a f6. all seem to end up slow stall fights in the dirt.  I personally would take JUGglers advise on this one.

That of course is only --  IMO

EDIT: The M and N have the exact same engine... Horsepower is identical. Only issues are frame-related or weight-related.

not quite Krusty but very close...while you are correct that both engines produced 2800 horsepower in war emergency, the R2800-57 only equipped the first 500 P-47N's built.  The remainder were all equipped with either the R2800-73, -77 or -81.  Yeah, it's picking nits but the engines although similar, had slight differences between them, mainly the ignition system.

Could always check out the how-to vid here:

... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

The "M" is used for bashing heads
The "N" is used for art!  ;)

JUGgler

LOL.

When i am fighting one of them, i see the big difference.  The N is easy to take on.  Once they lose that E they do not last long in the fight.  Stall is terrible.  When it comes to the M, WOW, tough little bugger to take on.  Love being picked by them.  I have a nice little defensive move that makes them loose that E.

The N will turn tighter, and feels more stable than the M, can definitely feel the extended tail filet and tail
adding stability, especially below say 250, feels more 152ish
The Kanonenvogel had 6 rounds per pod, this is not even close to being open for debate.
