quite frankly, the interface is not very user friendly. It's almost as difficult as learning the nuances of AH.

I found it very easy to use.

It's sad but like most things it gets abused by the masses and over used, and will over time degrade.

I have a very good friend that is a computer programer and consults congress and the U.S. Govt. He says it's the most dangerous thing you can do online.

Wake up your intellectually  bankrupt if you really think it has some social value. It is design to create income steams for the owners/creators and that is it. They have no problem stealing stupid peoples personal information because " most are to stupid to protect themselves"

Farmville alone creates more than 200 million in revenue  every year. LOOK who is really being farmed!!!  :headscratch:

What's facebook?
Mosquito VI - twice the spitfire, four times the ENY.

the almost incomplete and not entirely inaccurate guide to the AH Mosquito.

Thus far I have found facebook to be a great asset. Like anything it takes a few minutes time to protect yourself which it seems too many simply assume is too difficult to do because they believe the falsehoods spread on the internet or lack the knowledge. We have exchange daughters all over the world and our children are scattered in several states. With facebook we can keep up on happenings, photo's, daily events, surgeries, significant others, etc. In the old days it took days of mail returns to keep up and frankly even sending emails to each and every one of them with todays technology is a burdensome task. So with this new technology of facebook we get to enjoy our family more than ever before and I am grateful.

Be smart and protect yourself and it is a good tool. If you don't use the asset do so because you simply don't want or need to. Don't do it because of baseless fear tactics that get spread out of ignorance.
Yea, simply because I can

Been 'hijacking' facebook accounts recently for testing purposes (don't do anything to do them except gain access). It's interesting :)

regardless of what you are doing, I wouldn't get caught. I'm actually surprised that you would even post that here.  :headscratch:

How can you protect yourself when you gave them all your info. They are not trust worthy. They don't need to hack they can access your page at any time. The average hacker doesn't have the resources to use your info. They do.

Just wait until it becomes public how mr google started the revolt in Egypt. And how he knew he could.
If you had the conversation I did with my friend I guarantee you would think different.
Anyway  :salute the benefits don't out weigh the risks IMO.

Why give away all personal info to a company which clearly states that they will do whatever they want with it, and then worry about hackers?  Your information is just a businessmeeting away from being all over the net.

Watch out there rogwar. You might be asked to join a bass fishing tournament and have bud light sponsor you!!

I'm well aware that companies are using my age, gender, location, even my indicated interests from my facebook page to target their ads at me.  I guess that just doesn't bother me.

I wish I could undo the fact that I ever went on face book in the first place. In my list of "friends", there are people I've never heard of, and cannot guess the mutual friend that caused me to be linked to these people.

A guy I worked with long ago recently posted "In chip shop waiting for 2 cod and a haddock. A jug of harvest pale waiting for us in the kings arms"  Yeah, I really needed to know that.

Well, whether you requested them or they requested you, you decided you knew them well enough to confirm the friendship
