Why?
« on: February 15, 2011, 04:08:25 PM »
For anyone out here that has lost a loved one, my heart goes out to you.  My brother of 42 years, that I've been alive now, has been suffering from cancer for the past couple.  It seems he might not win this battle.  They're talking about bringing hospice and all that stuff in. Just really don't know how to handle this one. I know there are many, many, folks on here in the same boat.
Not trying to bring anyone down or anything like that.  I just feel Ah and this bbs are my family too now.  Me and my family don't get along all that well, but me and Donny do. (that's my bro')

Just venting on the unfairness of life sometimes...

My Uncle just got through colon cancer, so I know what it's like to have a loved one go through something like this, luckly my uncle pulled through and is doing good now, I just hope the same for your brother.

Sorry to hear that Coog.  I lost my great grandmother to bone cancer on January 1, 2010.  Today, February 15, 2011, my family lost one of it's close and dear friends, Bro. Joe Clendenin, to cancer that he has been battling for .  He was the pastor that married my parents, but not only that, he taught carpentry at our high school for over 30 years.  His son was my history teacher, golf team coach, and is my weekend golf partner.

Life surely isn't fair, and it's always the good ones that are taken from us.  Cancer is one of those things that has taken so many from us.  We just have to realize that once they pass from this earth they will move on to a better place and will no longer suffer or feel pain.

My prayers are sent, Coog.  PM if you want to vent more.

Coogn, all you can do is be there for him. You can't make it better or really help him physically. What you don't know, is just how much help your just being there will be but it will be immense to him. Listen to him, talk to him, just be there. Don't forget to find someone for you to talk to as well. You are not alone just like your brother is not alone because you are there.

I'm here too if you want to talk. A pm with your e-mail and I'll get right back to you.

Hang in there!

Didn't look good for my dad when he found out he had lung cancer. He was in his mid 70's at the time, originally it was the size of a grapefruit when they found it.

They did some chemo before the surgery to help shrink it, so he'd lose less lung.

Well he's in his mid 80's now, 86 actually, still sharp, still tough.

I don't think I'd of made it though that one, without my squad and AH.
You guys have kept me sane and whole through several problems.
Getting it out seems to help in many cases, being able to express those thoughts and fears helps you come to grips with them.

Positive thinking, laughter is the best medicine, and believe in the power of prayer.
Best of luck to you & yours!
