What????
She would add some spice to the otherwise stuck up european's race scene.....
While I would very much love to see an American in F1, somebody like Mario Andretti in days of yore. I just don't think she has the skill, sorry.
She does alright in IRL, but even the very best drivers from North American series have struggled to hang on in F1. Look at Sebastian Bourdais (not American but raced here)... dominated CHAMP for what 3-4 years, went to F1 and was a total flop. Michael Andretti, did very, very well in CART, not so much in F1. Most recently Scott Speed was another American disappointment. There is a reason there are less then 2 dozen F1 drivers in the world, it is a whole 'nuther level above things like CHAMP, IRL and CART, and no American in recent years has really committed themselves to make it to that level. Well I guess Scott Speed kinda did, I think he could have improved if he's stuck around (he had a very sub-par car too) but he just didn't seem happy in F1.
Problem as I see it, is like somebody else already mentioned, great American drivers can stay in America and make a great living racing, and be home with their family every weekend, or even take their family with them. F1 requires weeks at a time on the road all over the globe, and gets little attention here, so they really have no motivation to try and make it to F1.
As for WRC, Ken Block has been kind of a joke there too. My theory is he only got in because he owns DC.
