Tu-2
« on: February 23, 2011, 10:31:43 PM »
While not the most important bomber in the VVS arsenal, I think the Tu-2 would get the best reception by the AH community, reasons being, Carrys decent ammount of ord for its size (8300lbs internaly and externaly) decent speed, 325 mph,2 fixed forward firing ShVAK's in the wing root, and three ShKAS  7.62's in the dorsal ventral and canopy hatches, these were upgaded to  UB (12.7mm) mg's in later models

Was just reading about the TU. Said to have been almost as succesful as the IL2 in the Attack role on the Eastern Front. Good Call. :aok

The Pe-2 got my vote over the B29.

I'd settle for the Tu-2, though.   ;)

correct, if I had to put the most successful soviet attack planes of the GPW in order, it would be 1. Il2 2. Pe-2 and 3 the Tu-2, although like I said aove, I think that the Tu-2 would be better suited for the style of play in AH over the Pe, as it was more of an attack dive bomber (and from what I can see dive bombers are not used as much in AH, the Tu-2 would be more of a high speed level bomber like the boston 3 and with two 20mm ShVAK's I could see it draw a following like the A20 ( possibly)
