Damage display
« on: February 25, 2011, 07:10:08 PM »
I think it would be very convenient if there was a box to check under prefs/flight that would leave the damage display on all the time, as opposed to having to type control D   every hop.

Actually it has nuthin to do with SA, if I take a ping in a fight I want to know immediately what is damaged.

Sounds like it has to do with SA to me. Don't get the wrong idea, I like the wish, I just feel that having a HUD of damage is important/relevant to SA instead of having to scan your entirely plane for damage.

laziness...but i guess having it up on your screen along with the text buffer all the time could be useful to some...would rather have an option to hide the text buffer.

I say leave it as it is.  Chalk up having to type in (or hot key) the damage display to performing a "damage control" analysis on your plane which took a lot longer than pressing the Ctrl-D that we have to do now.

Somewhat tongue and cheek here..

If you're expecting to actually need to see what has been damaged.. isn't that actually 'Planning to Fail'?

You can map it to a button on your controls. No need for a keyboard.

I hate havin the text buffer up somes times along with anythin else. pretty easy to figure out whats missing just by "feeling" what the a/c is doing.
but if yall want it go for it.

Yes, but I'm all for implementing modern game conveniences to AH's outdated interface. I'm used to it and have no problems but I think it would help new players the most.
