Where are the B-29s?
« on: February 26, 2011, 07:14:49 PM »
Over the years I've seen a ton of post wishing for the B-29. Well, the wishes have been granted.
Sure haven't seen much of them though.   Just saying.

Maybe because of 300 perks for a formation? ;)

Too true.  But even the most ardent wishers must have know that they would come with a high price.

I didn't mean that.  That's what wishes are for and I'm glad that HTC listened.  Actually the more airplanes and vehicles we have to choose from the better.  It's only that due to the shear number of requests for that particular airplane, I thought we would see more of them.

100 perks for a single plane makes people seriously think about upping one. This high cost also kinda "forces" them into a very high altitude mission profile, which really takes a lot of time, so that further reduces usage.
Keep in mind, most bomber action in the MA is of tactical nature (killing town for capture, sinking CV, killing a base) and not strategic. And for that the B-29 doesn't really offer that much more over the conventional, free rides. It's strengths are for long-range strat runs (which happen rarely anyway) and as the ultimate tool for boosting bomber score.

There was a 29 mission today with at least 5 sets, and they brought it in around 15k, what a blast it was, I believe the Jokers posted that one and it was awesome to see someone actually fight using them instead of avoiding combat with them. wtg!!.
