Another (dot) command, adjustment actually
« on: March 01, 2011, 10:16:52 PM »
I noticed that when you try to fly as a schwarm you are limited with the .wingman command to only one plane. True you can only have one "wingman" but this command should work for up to 4 other planes. A schwarm is 4 but I've flown in a big group with 5. Gotta draw a line somewhere I suppose.

This command would enable a 'Loose Deuce' style schwarm to function much better in a large plane set.

highlights whoever you name as wingman in a different color so you can keep track of him in the sea of icons...nothing more

Solution #1: If everyone tunes to the same channel they get the same, unique icon color.

Solution #2: Mission. Everyone in the same mission gets the same, unique icon channel.

Do you just want to highlight other people without their conscent?

Of the major forces in the war, only the Japanese used wingmen.  And that is an arbitrary thing since they flew in three-ships.

But in this game of ours, if you have wingmen, where do you go when they both need you?  You both need "him?"

No need for wingmen here...... Those guys lost the war.   :salute

Didn't know regarding the Japanese.

What I am after is the ability to have 3-5 of you with different colors in either a mission or a squad. Last week as an example. We flew with 15, broke into three groups of 5. When the shooting started trying to keep one small group together was pretty difficult. I know this means that in the real world it was even more so, though in the game it would be nice to rally the rest of the schwarm.

The German Schwarm was two pairs of wingmen (Rotten) working in unison.
