how do GV drivers take it?
« on: March 04, 2011, 12:06:01 PM »
I wanna know if getting bombed in GVs is just irritating or feels like part of the game for the Tankers.  When I see a tank battle going on I'm wondering if it should be left alone to shoot it out.  I personally can't hit anything with a bomb so it doesn't matter what I do but I thought it might get a little tedious vs exciting to be shooting it out with another gv and get air assaulted.  Anybody?

Well the mere existance of the term "bomb****" should pretty much answer the question, but I'm no GVer, so maybe you'll hear from somebody who is...

You must be the type of person that cries bloody murder if his fighter sortie 1-v-1 in the middle of a furball is interrupted.... Even if that 1 he was fighting was really already engaged in another 1v1....

Frankly the question is how do we (the general community) take all the WHINING that some GV drivers put up about being bombed?

A very vocal minority... they almost ruined more than one scenario with these complaints, as well. The cries also go up nonstop about tank town being bombed as well.

You can't operate in a vaccuum. You want vaccuum? Go play offline against the drones. You want to stop the bombs? Up a wirble. Most deadly GV of the entire set by a long shot. 90% or more of all GV kills on planes are from a wirble. It's really rather uber. So up one, drive along with your buddies, and cover them from the air attacks. Or find a buddy willing to do that for you.

Sucks to be bombed while in a tank that's for sure. I am guilty of doing it to others though. Part of the game I would say.

Interesting...  The word I used starting with bomb and ending with ard, with a letter t in the middle was blocked.

I tend to take off with a couple of eggs just for tanks I see near the field. It is pretty simple, if you don't egg them, they will definitely cap the field and vulch later.

If they are at or near the spawn, I tend to leave them alone.

Great minds think alike ... :uhoh

If I am around and you are marching your GV towards the base/town, be it Air or Vehicle, be prepared to be bombed if your a tank, or be prepared to get your gun shot out if your an Osty or a Whirble.

Tank towns and GV spawn battles I don't bother with bombing ... to much fun waiting for those who do show up with bombs and ripping them to shreds.

if i gv at all...i'm not just sitting, rather be making a moving assault...makes it more difficult to hit with a bomb...but then i don't care how many times i get sent to the tower either...  :joystick:

I'll leave tank fights alone if they are fighting it out and no bases is being captured for either side. I will bomb tanks if they start pushing hard to our base/town, or our guys are trying to take the base and ask for some help. Spawn campers get bombed no mater the situation, they usually cry the most so it's much more entertaining. Been Bombed in tanks plenty of times, it's part of the game.

Now, now, lets not jump to prejudicial conclusions.  The only thing I whine about is all the Jackprettythang's in fighter planes with big red icons above them that shoot at me while I'm just trying to have a nice little flight, whats THAT all about?

I really don't think gv'ers get too PO'ed when they are storming an air base and they get egged--comes with the territory.

If I have broken through a spawn and am almost to the airfield and the ords pop back up and I get egged it's fully understandable.  If the situation were reversed and I were defending, I'd egg the guy as well rather than have him be able to camp the runways or vh.

I think they are in a nice gv-vs-gv battle and it's simply that and one of the NME gets killed a few times because they did not take "Introduction To Not Staying In The Open/Art of Blending In With Your Environment--101" and gets frustrated and comes back and Lanc-Stukas everything in sight because of their own lack of skills it's a bit of a pain.  It's their $15 bucks, but why not just tough it out and learn how to gv.  Sure, it's a steep learning curve but lots of fun to work on those skill-sets.

There's also a second stereotype where some new guy finds sees so many other players landing scalps and they cant do it in a gv or in a turn-fight so they resort to upping in a heavy pony or jug and goes over to some gv fight and eggs the tanks and dump rockets on the thin skinned gv's and then scalded-dog runs home to the nearest base to land scalps-get name in lights.  Then again, HTC hands out monthly kudos for "attack" so it's actually encouraged.  Kinda lame (sad really) but encouraged...but then again, their $15 bucks.
