Put 1 cup of gasoline in there Cap, seal and leave for 5 mins. After 5 mins, drop in a lighted match, slam lid back down, and watch for where the flame comes out. That'll be ya leak (caution, you may have a bit more to fix after this)
 :D :D :D

And yes, I know squat about cars  :lol

I'm the worst pilot ingame ya know!!!

It's all unrealistic crap requested by people who want pie in the sky actions performed without an understanding of how things work and who can't grasp reality.

good idea!!! that'd work kinda like a guy i used to know......when he had a short circuit in a car, he'd put a wire across the fuse terminals, and look for the smoke......... :noid :devil

I guess that would work, but it's really hard to put the smoke back in once you let it out. :D

Figure out a way to pressurize it and then run a flame around it. Watch for flicker.

Did you top off the tank recently?

Cars with fuel injection have the fuel pump in the gas tank. The gasket around the metal cover that is holds the fuel pump may have ruptured. This happens when fuel tanks are topped off. Seems a lot of pressure builds up and causes a leak in the fuel pump gasket.

But probably best to check to make sure the gas cap is on right.

found the problem.

this lady had this vehicle to another shop sometime in the past for an EVAP problem. for whatever reason, they had unscrewed the schrader valve in the EVAP test port.
when they reinstalled the valve, they never fully tightened it, allowing vapors to leak out of this test port.

well, the thing is i almost missed it. i had my smoke machine hooked up to the test port, to try and find the leak. the system held tight for 25 minutes, so i went back and re-checked all the solenoids and vcv's. and the connections.
the air in the fuel tank confused me a little, since we all know there is no air in the fuel tank too.........

i really don't know what made me look at the schrader.......'cept for one thing.

 i must be AWESOME/
