I started working on a new control method for tanks last week. It will be similar to the control system in  WoT in that movement will be controlled via aswd from any position.

The new system will account for the different turning abilities of wheeled and tracked vehicles including tanks that could have the tracks turn opposite directions.

Main gun control will be available from the commanders position.

We will also be redoing sights to match the real world counterparts.

I have not played much yet with optic clarity, but I have a few ideas to see how they work.

Hitech,

If you are able to produce the "cram sighting system" that were used in a number of vehicles, then you will change the lethality curve of the game considerably.

now will we have a new gunning system as well? or a new way of aiming. through a periscope or something?

They're trying to kill me," Yossarian told him calmly.
"No one's trying to kill you," Clevinger cried.
"Then why are they shooting at me?" Yossarian asked.
"They're shooting at everyone," Clevinger answered. "They're trying to kill everyone."
"And what difference does that make?"

Hitech That is good news. My hole squad has gone to WoT and I have not seen them on Aces high for months. I personally didn't like WoT because it is played with a mouse and not a joy stick. I also didn't like the icons being visible to the enemy tanks. I did like the short drives to get into action and the artillery. I am looking forward to the new updates to our tanks. WTG HTC <S>

Gents,

This is s discussion that has been held over several years.  I agree that Tank Destroyers are very interesting, but in Smokinloon's post hit the heart of the matter:

A turretless vehicle will be next to imposable to use in AH.

I have for a long time been calling for the Puma to be added to the game.  What is there not to like about a 8 wheeled armored car that packs a 50mm turreted anti-tank gun.  Speed and Punch is the true nature of fun in AH.

Not to mention that unless you had a gunner tracking a target would require constant switching from the driver to gunner position and back to start and stop forward/rearward motion to make the turn.

Stug would be more useful in Aces High then a Hetzer imo.

Curious, why?  They performed essentially the same role.  Maybe you're thinking of the Stuh howitzer instead?
The Stug was a 75mm gun on a panzer III or IV chassis while a Hetzer was a 75mm on a Pz-38t chassis.
